"Attack on Titan" Manga 18th Volume Tops Japan's Weekly Sales Chart

This year's total sales of the series was 8,778,048 copies

According to the latest Oricon report, the 463-yen regular edition of the 18th tankobon volume of Hajime Isayama's manga series Attack on Titan, released on December 9, topped its weekly manga sales chart with 969,743 copies. The sales improved from the previous 17th volume released in August selling 771,157 copies in its first week. The 1,944-yen limited edition with a Santa version Nendoroid Petite figure of Eren ranked 14th with 56,279 units.

 

The 1,058-yen limited edition of the 17th volume with the Kansai Dialect version 1st volume sold 133,306 copies in its first week. So the first week total sales of the 18th volume was 1,026,022 copies, while that of the previous volume was 904,463.

 

As reported, the series sold 8,778,048 copies in total in the year 2015 (counted between December 1, 2014 and November 30, 2015), which was 26 percent down from 2014's 11,728,368, and almost half

of 2013's 15,933,801.
