King Records Retires the StarChild Music Label

Internal label specialized in anime music and film production since 1981

It's the end of an era of sorts, because King Records has announced that as of February 01, 2016, they will be retiring their StarChild internal music label and replacing it with a new organization entitled King Creative Amusement Headquarters.

StarChild has specialized in the production of anime music and film since its inception in 1981. The label has produced music with such artists as Megumi Hayashibara, Sumire Uesaka, and Yui Horie's alter-ego, Miss Monochrome. StarChild has also worked on such anime productions as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Love Hina, Shimoneta, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Mysterious Girlfriend X, just to name a few.

The StarChild home pages with information on various works and artists will eventually be closed and taken offline. King Records is thanking fans for their support and directing them to use the official King Records home pages instead in the future.
