New OVA to be Included in "Girls und Panzer der Film" DVD/Blu-ray

4DX screenings will begin this weekend at 27 theaters in Japan

The official blog for the Girls und Panzer anime franchise today revealed the details of the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray of the feature film Girls und Panzer der Film to be released on May 27. It will be released in three editions: 9,800-yen special limited edition Blu-ray, 7,800-yen regular edition Blu-ray and 6,800-yen regular edition DVD. Each edition include a newly-produced OVA which tells the film story's sequel. The original character designer Fumikane Shimada draws the box and jacket cover illustrations (see the images below).

While the two regular editions have one audio commentary by the voice cast, the limited edition has two more: one by the main staff including the director Tsutomu Mizushima, and another by military critics including the anime's supervisor Takaaki Suzuki. In addition, the limited edition disc has a DTS Headphone:X audio track as a bonus.

It is also confirmed that the film has earned over 1.1 billion yen from its domestic run since its theatrical

release on November 21, 2015. As reported, the film will get 4DX digital screenings at 27 selected theaters

across Japan from this Saturday, February 20. So the box office record is expected to grow more.
