Emi Nitta says, "This wonderful award is more than we deserve."
Recording Industry Association of Japan announced the winners of The 30th Japan Gold Disc Award on February 26, which are based on sales number data of music CDs and DVD/Blu-rays compiled between January 1 and December 31, 2015.
The CDs and live DVD/Blu-rays for the Love Love! anime/game franchise performed by its nine-member voice actress unit μ’s received the Special Award of the year, and their 2nd best album "Love Live! μ's Best Album Best Live! collection II" was also chosen as "Animation Album of the Year." The album was released on May 27, 2015, and has sold over 140,000 units in Japan.
Emi Nitta, who has voiced Honoka Kousaka, provides a comment below:
"This wonderful Special Award of the 30th Japan Gold Disc Award is more than we deserve. We are very
happy that so many people have loved our music. Considering how we launched the project, this is almost
unbelievable, but they have become irreplaceable treasures for the cast and staff who have worked on.
We also want to convey this joy to the fans who have raised and supported the franchise together."
