Animate Shops Celebrate 30 Years with Original "Hand Shakers" Anime

Chain of stores teams up with GoHands, Frontier Works, and Kadokawa

Japan's Animate character goods stores are cooking up a big celebration for the chain's 30th anniversary. They announced plans to team up with anime studio GoHands (K, Coppelion), publisher Kadokawa, and the Frontier Works production company on an original anime project called Hand Shakers

The first promo made its debut at the March 20 event at which the project was announced. The promo will screen at Animate retail stores across Japan from now until March 31. While we'll have to wait for more details on the anime, teaser text on its website references the Hand Shakers, who "receive the Revelation," "challenge God," and "fight hand-to-hand again and again."

You can read more text in English under the Hand Shakers logo. It says:

They, the receivers of the Revelation of Babel. They, the challengers to God.

They, who inevitably throw themselves into battle with their partners. What does God want from them?

And did they want powers exceeding that of God's? The chosen ones, their souls linked,

join hands and head for the Ziggurat where the fighting shall ensue.
