"Legend of Funassyi" runs from June 30 to July 31, 2016, at the DMM VR Theater in Yokohama
Funassyi - the genderless, heavy-metal loving pear fairy and unofficial mascot of Funabashi City - is starring in its own virtual reality fantasy stage play at the DMM VR Theater in Yokohama in the Summer season of 2016.
Legend of Funassyi will feature Funassyi and friends rendered as full 3DCG characters projected in real-time. In the play, Funassyi stars as an apprentice warrior who defends the city from a monster invasion. The theater facilities utilize a 9.1ch surround sound mix for music and sound effects, as well as stage effects that allow characters to fly, disappear, and dodge leaping flames.
Legend of Funassyi runs from June 30 to July 31, 2016, with afternoon performances at both 1:00 PM and 4:30 PM JST. Tickets to the play cost 2000 yen ($18.09 US) for adults and 1000 yen ($9.04 US) for children, although there is also a special family rate for 2741 yen ($24.79 US) which includes 1 adult and 1 child ticket.
Performances of Legend of Funassyi will run approximately 1 hour in length. For more information, please check out the official Japanese home page here.
