The official website for Taboo Tattoo, an upcoming TV anime adaptation of the seinen action manga by Shinjirō, has published the broadcast details, a new key visual, and character profiles for a trio of recently announced cast members.

Taboo Tattoo's Japanese broadcast schedule is as follows:

  • TV Tokyo: Every Monday during the 26:05 time slot beginning on July 04, 2016.
  • AT-X: Every Wednesday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on July 06, 2016.
  • BS Japan: Every Saturday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on July 09, 2016.

Please note that some Japanese TV schedules considered early-morning programming to be late-night programming for the previous day. I.e. The 26:05 time slot on July 04 is actually the 2:05 AM JST time slot on July 05.

The following supporting characters were also profiled on the official website:

Aryabahta, aka "Arya", is voiced by Akari Kito. Arya is the princess of the Selinistan Kingdom. Beautiful and dignified, she has a limitless love for playing games.

Iltutmish, aka "Il", is voiced by Shiori Izawa. Il has sworn allegiance to Arya.

R.R. Lurker, aka "Lurker", is voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda. Lurker is one of Arya's subordinates. An avowed sadist, Lurker is skilled with wielding a whip.

The original Taboo Tattoo manga is serialized in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive seinen manga anthology magazine. The TV anime adaptation is directed by Takashi Watanabe and features animation by J.C. Staff. An English language version of the manga is published by Yen Press, who describe Taboo Tattoo as follows:

"By all accounts, middle schooler Seigi is pretty unremarkable except for his martial arts prowess and a desire to protect the weak. But when his good intentions are put to the test by saving an old homeless man from some street thugs, the mysterious man shows his gratitude by...burning a tattoo onto Seigi's palm?!

It turns out, the tattoo is a powerful secret weapon that everyone--including a formidable girl with a tattoo of her own--is after. With his life on the line and his martial arts skills alone no match against super-powered foes, will Seigi be able to unlock the latent potential of his tattoo and live to fight another day?!"
