"Akiba's Trip" Follow-up "Akiba's Beat" Announced for PS4 & Vita

Action-RPG launches in Japan this fall

Acquire is preparing to follow the act of the Akiba's Trip games with a new action-RPG called Akiba's Beat. The sequel is featured in this week's issue of Famitsu, with a teaser website now live, and it's officially set to launch on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan this fall.

Akiba's Beat aims to once again realistically recreate Akihabara. In this one 19-year-old NEET protagonist Asashi Tachibana and his friends find themselves trapped in a delusion-riddled world in which Sunday repeats. The delusions come to a head in dungeons, in which players can battle enemies and increase their combat abilities by equipping special headphones.

Divine Gate's Kohta Takano is directing Akiba's Beat, which will feature character design by UCMM and a theme song by ClariS.
