Series reunites "Oreimo" creators
It's been a quiet couple of month for the plans to produce a TV anime adaptation of Eromanga Sensei, the latest series from Tsukasa Fushimi and Hiro Kanzaki, author and illustrator on the original Oreimo light novels. Previously mentioned at Dengeki Bunko Haru no Saiten 2016 in March, fans have now spotted an early look at confirmation that Akane Fujita (Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara) will be voicing Sagari Izumi, the lead role in A-1 Picture's TV anime.
Ero Manga Sense follows the contentious relationship between a light novel author/highschool student and his demanding, hikikomori younger step-sister... who is also secretly the illustrator on his novels.
The sixth light novel was released in March.
Speaking about the series in 2014, Kanzaki mentioned, “When I first heard the title, I had a very bad feeling.”
Fushimi commented, “I feel that Kirino from OreImo is a pure, innocent girl. This time, the heroine, Sagiri, may seem innocent, but she is quite dirty. I hope readers enjoy finding the differences between the two heroines.” Before the talk session ended, he gave one final comment, “I want readers to think, ‘The title is so embarassing, but I’m glad I read this!’”
Last year, as revealed in a Kirino x Kuroneko Twitter argument, Dengeki and Nico Nico collaborated in an Oreimo x Eromanga sensei crossover webcast, the "plot" turns of which where determined by user votes.
