Legendary Artist Katsuhiro Otomo Draws New Manga

Otomo will be discussing the bande dessinée tradition of Franco-Belgian comics in Japanese art magazine

Back in 2012, when the Katsuhiro Otomo GENGA Exhibition was being shown in Tokyo, the legendary creator of Akira was the subject of a special issue of Japanese montly art magazine Geijutsu Shincho. For that, he drew a new full-color short sci-manga, titled "DJ Teck's Morning Attack." For the magazine's Jully issue, on sale 25th, Otomo will be back.

This time, 62 year-old Otomo will be discussing the bande dessinée tradition of Franco-Belgian comics, which was influenced his work and vice versa. Along with the discussion will be a new, eight page, color work called "Est-ce que les robots mechants vont aussi en enfer? (Do bad robots go to hell too?)"
