Remake Of Live-Action "Lone Wolf And Cub" In Development

Shooting is planned for 2017

Movie industry trade journal Variety has reported that a live-action adaptation of Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima's Lone Wolf and Cub samurai manga is in development from producer Steven Paul’s SP International Pictures.. They are describing it as a remake of 1993's Kozure Okami: Sono Chisaki Te Ni (Lone Wolf and Cub: Final Conflict).

Shooting is planned for 2017.

Variety has it that Los Angeles-based Paul has become a major axis between Hollywood and Japan. Following past jobs producing Marvel Comic’s Ghost Rider 1 & 2 and Namco Bandai’s Tekken 1 & 2, current projects include live-action Ghost in the Shell. Noting the race controversies around GitS' casting, Variety says that Paul told them that Final Conflict will be shot with an essentially Japanese cast in both China and Thailand.
