Level-5 CEO Wants to See "Megaton Musashi" on 'As Big a Screen as Possible'

Cross-media project was announced during Level-5 Vision 2016 event

Last week Level-5 announced its latest cross-media project, Megaton Musashi, which aims to bring giant robot action to the world of anime, games, toys, and more. Platforms have yet to be announced on the game side of things, but Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino says they're considering development on high-spec machines as well as Nintendo 3DS.

The 3DS consideration isn't too surprising, but beyond that Hino says he wants to see Megaton Musashi on "as big a screen as possible."

The quote comes from an interview in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine, which also reveals a few more details about the upcoming project. For instance, Level-5 is putting a strong focus on "cool actions in the cockpit" such as technique shouting, lever pulling, and the overall cool factor that comes along with giant robots. Hino also says the game's setting should resonate with the older generation of fans.

Megaton Musashi is currently scheduled for a summer 2017 debut.
