Viz to Reprint Classic "Super Mario Adventures" Manga

Full-color comics return in graphic novel form on October 12

Today's been a good day for Nintendo Power readers. First we posted about the first 145 issues being available for perusal on, and now Viz Media has plans to reprint one of the mag's classic comics. This time it's the Super Mario Adventures manga, written by Kentaro Takekuma and illustrated by Charlie Nozawa.

The comic originally ran in the pages of Nintendo Power from 1992-1993, and Viz plans to release the full-color collection on October 12.

Here's a synopsis from Things From Another World:

Super Mario Adventures, inspired by the bestselling Super Mario video game franchise, is a collection of comics that originally ran in Nintendo Power magazine in 1992-93. The peril-plagued Princess Toadstool is kidnapped by the diabolical deadbeat Bowser but super plumbers Mario and Luigi hatch a plan with their new friend Yoshi to rescue her. Are the Super Mario Bros' plans a pipe dream? Can they stop the Koopa King before he forces the Princess to be his bride?! Long out of print, this stunning, full-color graphic novel is now available once again!
