With Slight Movement, "KanColle," "Touhou" And "Touken Ranbu" Continue To Dominate Comiket Doujinshi

Track the hits of the latest Comiket doujinshi event

This weekend, over half-a-million otaku will crowd into Tokyo Big Sight to see almost 40,000 doujinshi circles (amateur  publishing groups) exhibit their latest creations. As in recent years Meiji University Yonezawa Memorial Library of Manga and Subculture Comiket researcher myrmecoleon has crunched the numbers, and, as in recent year's the battle for most parodied subject was fought between the World War II ships as cute girls of KanColle, the mythical figures as cute girls from bullet hell shooter Touhou Project and the historical swords as cute boys from Touken Ranbu.

The numbers were compiled to look at movement and trying out their ability to predict popularity based on measure such as Pixiv posts and reaction. So, this is not an exhaustive ranking and the bottom ones don't necessarily beat out other popular series such as Gintama, Ace of the Diamond, Magical Girl Madoka ☆ Magica and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
