Visual Starts The Lead In To "Yowapeda" TV Anime Season 3

Cycle racing series returns in winter 2017

In January 2017, Wataru Watanabe's Yowamushi Pedal sports manga returns for a third TV anime, subtitled "New Generation." After the second anime's Inter-high Arc, corresponding with volume 27, the new anime will see what happens with the Sohoku High School cycling team after the third-year student's veteran members graduate.

Osamu Nabeshima is back directing the TMS production with Kurasumi Sunayama stepping up to write series composition and Yukiko Ban (DRAMAtical Murder Yowapeda's anime movie) on character design.

On September 9th, a Yowamushi Pedal - Spare Bike double movie, adapting Wataru Watanabe's spin-off/prequel about the back stories of the series' third-year cycling competitors, hit Japanese theaters for a limited, two-week run.

The two stories focus on Sohoku High School's Yuusuke Makishima, who, as a freshman, was ridiculed by the upper classmen for his unusual dancing-style technique and Hakone native Jinpachi Toudou, who, in junior-high, was too concerned about the condition of his hair to compete. Joining the cast for the the latter will be Daisuke Sakaguchi (Gintama's Shinpachi) as Toudou's friend Shusaku Itokawa  and Mariya Ise (Kabaneri's Yukina) as Hakone manager Minami.
