"Kemono Friends" Cancels Service Less Than One Month After Announcing Anime Adaptation

TV anime based on Japanese smart phone about beast-girls apparently still on track for January of 2017

Sad news for fans of Nexon's "Zoo RPG" smart phone game Kemono Friends: as of December 14, 2016, the game will be shutting down service.

This news comes as something of a surprise, since a TV anime adaptation of Kemono Friends was announced less than a month ago.

The Kemono Friends smart phone game began service on iOS and Android smart phones in March of 2015 and was also adapted into a manga that is illustrated by Fly and serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Ace manga magazine. The publication of the manga and the upcoming TV anime adaptation appear to be unaffected by the smart phone game terminating service.
