CG animated adaptation of hit game series will attack in May 2017.
If you're waiting for the new Resident Evil film, you can start an official countdown: it's been announced that Resident Evil: Vendetta will be released on May 27, 2017 in Japan.
Some posters and cards have also been released for the upcoming film, showing the amazing graphics you can expect when the movie hits.
The film adaptation of the franchise, called Biohazard in Japan, sports a screenplay by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass, Berserk 2016), and is directed by Takanori Tsujimoto, who served as an episode director for the live-action Patlabor movie series. Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge) serves as executive producer.
Additionally, to correspond with the Japanese release of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter on December 23, two special movie ticket cards will be released. Single tickets will also come with a B2-sized poster, while pairs of tickets bought together will come with an A4 clear file set. A new preview video will also be released that day.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will hit North American theaters on January 27, 2017. No worldwide release date has yet been set for Vendetta.
