"Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san" Celebrates 1 Million Copies Milestone with New Year's Art

Web comic by Souichirou Yamamoto is now serialized in Shogakukan's "Monthly Shōnen Sunday" magazine

Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san ("Takagi-san is Good at Pranks"), a school comedy manga by Souichirou Yamamoto about a young girl who loves playing pranks and her male classmate who often finds himself as the target of her trickery, is celebrating 4 collected volumes and over 1 million copies in circulation with artwork that rings in the new year.

The new artwork features series protagonist Takagi-san in a formal kimono with a caption that reads "Happy New Year! I hope to pull many pranks this year, too."

In Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san, Takagi-san enjoys playing tricks on Nishikata, a boy who sits next to her in class. Nishikata tries to return the favor for all of the jokes played on him, but Takagi-san is simply too good at pulling pranks to fall for his attempts at pranking.

Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san began life as a web comic published on the Pixiv Comic website, and the series is now published in Shogakukan's Monthly Shōnen Sunday magazine.
