TV anime about a ruthless police inspector in Edo era Japan debuts on January 09, 2017
A new teaser trailer gives viewers a taste of the characters and setting of Onihei, an upcoming TV anime based on the Onihei Hakancho samurai historical fiction novels written by Shōtarō Ikenami.
The Onihei TV anime is directed by Shigeyuki Miya and features animation by Studio M2. The story of Onihei follows the adventures of Hasegawa Heizō, aka Onihei ("Demon Heizō"), the head of a special police force dedicated to investigating robberies and acts of arson in Edo during the Tokugawa period.
Onihei will air on TV Tokyo, TV Aichi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting beginning on January 09, 2017. Later broadcasts are also scheduled on TV Setouchi, TV Osaka, and the Jidaigeki Senmon Channel.
