Masako Nozawa Wins Guinness World Records for Video Game Voice Acting

Nozawa has provided the voice of Son Goku in "Dragon Ball Z" video games since 1993

Veteran voice actress Masako Nozawa has been honored with a pair of awards by Guinness World Records, recognizing her as the current record-holder for the longest time voicing a single character in video games and also as for the longest time working as a voice actor in video games for her work as Son Goku in Bandai Namco Entertainment's Dragon Ball Z video games.



As of when the award was issued (October 25, 2016), Nozawa has been voicing Son Goku in DBZ-related games for 23 years and 218 days. Her video game voice work began with the 1993 Super Famicom game Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden. Nozawa was officially presented with the awards at a special ceremony in Tokyo on January 31, 2017.
