Book Walker, one of the largest Japanese digital bookstores, announced the winners of its "2016 Award of Book Walker" which were chosen from the 50 top-selling digital books and five top-selling independent books from its "BW Indies" section, released digitally at the store in 2016.
The Grand Prix Award winner chosen by the online poll from the 55 candidate books is Natsume Akatsuki's comedy fantasy light novel series Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!/KONOSUBA -God's blessing on this wonderful world! published from Kadokawa's Sneaker Bunko imprint. The series has been released 15 volumes (including five spin-off volumes), and its total print run has reached 3 million copies in Japan by December 2016. Its TV anime second season premiered in January 2017 is now also available on Crunchyroll. Last year's Grand Prix winner Fujino Omori's Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? received the Light Novel Award this year, which can be considered as the second prize in the light novel category.
