It is officially announced today that a stage play adaptation of internationally acclaimed Japanese manga artist Rumiko Takahashi's fantasy manga series Inuyasha will be performed at The Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo from April 6 to 15. Nelk Planning, which has worked on many stage play adaptations based on popular Japamese manga and anime, such as The Prince of Tennis, Naruto, Haikyu!!, and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, works on production. 54-year-old Isamu Kayano, best known for his works for the Sakura Taisen/Sakura Wars musicals, is attached to direct. General sale of the 8,500 yen advance tickets (all seats reserved) will begin on March 18 at 10:00 (JST).

The original manga author Rumiko Takahashi commented on the adaptation, "I love plays, so I am looking forward to seeing how it will be done." The manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1996 to 2008, then compiled in 56 tankobon volumes. The series has printed over 45 million copies in Japan.

Osamu Tezuka's manga in the late 1950s, Boku no Songoku. He said on his official Twitter today soon after

the announcement, "I will do my best not to be criticized by the fans of Inuyasha."

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Yumi Wakatsuki is set to play the main heroine Kagome Higurashi. She is a member of
