Life-Size "Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn" Statue Coming in 2017

Earlier life-size statue of the RX-78-2 from "Mobile Suit Gundam" has been on display in Odaiba since 2012

Mecha fans may mourn the loss of Odaiba's life-size RX-78-2 statue from Mobile Suit Gundam, which was officially decommissioned as of today, but they will have something new to look forward to soon: a life-size statue of the titular mecha suit from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn is in production.

The news was announced via the official Gundam Fan Club smart phone app, which features an exclusive interview with Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn series director Fukui Harutoshi.

Details are currently scarce about the new statue, although the current plan is to have the statue constructed and available for public viewing in 2017.
