Louis Vuitton Opens Fall Fashion Showcase With "Ghost In The Shell" Tribute

For Louis Vuitton's Fall 2017 showcase, Ghesquière opened the show with the theme to Mamoru Oshii’s 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie by Kenji Kawai

Remember the time that Louis Vuitton dressed Final Fantasy heroine Lightning? That was in part thanks to the French fashion designer and the current creative director Nicolas Ghesquière and his not-so-secret appreciation for Japanese media. After past nods to Evangelion, Sailor Moon and the like, he's returned to his muse, Motoko Kusanagi, in time for her live-action movie.

For Louis Vuitton's Fall 2017 showcase, Ghesquière opened the show with the theme to Mamoru Oshii’s 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie by Kenji Kawai (which faded into Frank Ocean’s “Pyramids”) as an introduction to fashion that explored the "intersection of futurism and femininity."
