Online Games Take a Deadly Turn in "The Silver Guardian" Trailer

TV anime adaptation based on popular Chinese web comic hits Tokyo MX on April 01, 2017

A new trailer is now available online for The Silver Guardian (known in Japan as Gin no Guardian), an upcoming TV anime based on the Chinese web comic about a pair of high-level gamers who end up sucked into the world of an MMORPG.



The new preview video highlights the opening theme song for The Silver Guardian, entitled "Mamoritsunagu" ("Talisman Transfer"), which is performed by Rin Akatsuki.



The story of The Silver Guardian follows Suigin Riku and Rei Riku, a pair of high school students who are also professional caliber gamers. One day, Suigin and Rei find themselves in transported into the virtual world of the new game "Grave Buster". There Suigin must take on the role of a "guardian" protecting a god's tomb from grave-robbers in order to save Rei.

The Silver Guardian is based on the Chinese web comic Yín Zhī Shǒu Mù Rén written and illustrated by Líng Méng and published on the Téngxùn Dòngmàn ("Tencent Animation") website. The Silver Guardian TV anime is directed by Masahiko Ohkura and features animation by HAOLINERS and Animation Company Emon. The series will debut on Tokyo MX on April 01, 2017.
