The 2015 short is helmed by first-time director and former Studio Ghibli animator Yojiro Arai
Sentai Filmworks has announced the license of Studio Colorido’s fantasy adventure, Typhoon Noruda. The 2015 short, helmed by first-time director and former Studio Ghibli animator Yojiro Arai, features character designs by Hiroyasu Ishida and music by Masashi Hamauzu (ClassicaLoid, Final Fantasy X).
They describe the anime:
The film takes place in a middle school on a remote island. Shuichi Azuma, a dedicated student, suddenly quits the baseball team, which leads to a fight with his best friend, Kenta. When a storm hits their school one day, Shuichi meets Noruda, a mysterious girl with a strange necklace, who seems to be somehow connected with the typhoon. Who is she? More importantly, why does Shuichi feel the need to help her?
Typhoon Noruda will soon be available on select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.
