"Bakugan" writers team up for Japanese/Korean kids' show, coming soon to Teletoon.
Looking for a new twist on kids' shows with card battles and transforming cars? How about cars that transform via card battles? That's the premise of Turning Mecard, a Korean/Japanese co-production created by Bakugan and Dragon Ball Super contributor Atsushi Maekawa.
The series already has a major following in the East, which has spawned a second season, a film, and an extensive toy line. Now, an English dub will be coming to Teletoon and Cartoon Network Canada.
Turning Mecard stars Jason, a grade-schooler who meets a Mecanimal -- a transforming minicar from the alternate world of Triforce -- named Evan. Jason and Evan are both searching for missing family members, and team up to help each other. Together, they meet more Mecanimals as they battle across dimensions and learn important lessons along the way.
The English dub of Turning Mecard premieres this Sunday, May 28 at 2 PM on Teletoon, with a rerun on Cartoon Network Canada on June 4 at 9:30 AM.
