"IDOLiSH7" Tunes up for Anime Adaptation and Spinoff Series

Popular rhythm game to get anime treatment, with voice cast returning.

Another group is joining the anime idol wars -- IDOLiSH7, Bandai Namco's popular rhythm game app, will be making the jump to anime soon.

Like other popular games, IDOLiSH7 is a combination of rhythm, music, and card collecting, combined with seasonal events. The fully-voiced characters will sound very familiar to existing fans when the anime takes to the screen, too: the cast of the game (as confirmed for two of the idol groups) will be reprising their roles:

Mitsuki Izumi: Tsubasa Yonaga (Saphir, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal)

Tamaki Yotsuba: KENN (Yamato, Twin Star Exorcists)

Ten Kujo: Soma Saito (Tadashi Yamaguchi, Haikyu!!)

Ryunosuke Tsunashi: Takuya Sato (Toshiki Kai, Cardfight!! Vanguard)

The announcement about the anime adaptation also mentions a "spinoff" in the works, though no information has been given about what that will entail or which characters will be involved.

Shangri-La director Makoto Bessho will be directing the series, with animation by TROYCA (your name.,Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works). Kazumi Fukagawa will provide character designs, based on the originals by Arina Tanemura.

An official website has been launched with staff and cast information and social media links.
