Shokotan Celebrates Premiere with Tribute Art

Third TV anime adaptation is now available on Crunchyroll

32-year-old actress/singer/otaku idol Shoko Nakagawa, aka Shokotan, has been also well known for her talent as an illustrator. Her latest work on her official Twitter was a tribute art for Hiroyuki Eto's Mahojin Guru Guru/MAGICAL CIRCLE GURU-GURU gag manga, posted during the premiere of the first episode of its new TV anime adaptation last night.

She said, "It's been a long time! This might be the first art since those days! Guruguru! I traced and painted the manga cover arts with watercolors, then displayed them on the wall, maybe when I was about 10? It was such a dream-like anime for a kid who loved cats and Dragon Quest. So sweet memories..."

The original MAGICAL CIRCLE GURU-GURU manga was adapted into two TV anime series, the 45-episode

Mahojin Guru Guru in 1994-1995 and the 38-episode Dokidoki Densetsu Mahoujin Guru Guru in 2000.

According to the announcement by the anime's official Twitter below, the third TV anime series is scheduled

to run for 24 episodes. Its first episode is already available to Crunchyroll members worldwide except Asia.
