Comics are getting pretty grim and gritty lately, but one is taking it very seriously. Yuuki Miyama and Saimaru Bermuda's Grimm & Gritty says it right there on the cover, and they're driving it home with an audio drama to celebrate their first volume.
The manga stars Touya, a high school student attacked one night by a fairy tale monster. The girl who comes to his rescue is Alicia, a famous idol, dressed for battle. The drama stars Soma Saito (Tadashi Yamaguchi, Haikyu!!), Ai Kakuma (Hikari Karibuchi, Brave Witches), and Hiromi Igarashi (Anzu Futaba, THE [email protected] Cinderella Girls). You can listen to a ten-minute sample of the drama courtesy of YouTube:
The full version can be heard by scanning a QR code printed in Volume 1 of the manga.
Additionally, a Twitter campaign is running until August 31 for a chance to win one of three autographed sketch cards. Fans can visit the campaign's official site to follow @COMIC_WALKER and @fj_dragonage, then click the button toward the middle of the page to tweet out a link to the campaign website with the hashtag #グリムアンドグリッティ (Grimm&Gritty). Three participants will be drawn randomly at the end of the month and will each receive one of three cards:
Grimm & Gritty Volume 1 will be released August 8 from Dragon Comics Age, and is currently available for preorder on Amazon.jp.
