Young Men Fall Head Over Heels in "Sanrio Boys" Key Visual

TV anime based on mixed media project about young men who love Sanrio mascots debuts in January of 2018

A new key visual shows the cast of Sanrio Boys falling in love with Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, and other Sanrio mascot characters. Sanrio Boys is a mixed media project that includes a mobile game, manga, and an upcoming TV anime about a group of male high school students who share a secret love for cute Sanrio characters.

Additionally, the character profiles for the cast of Sanrio Boys have been updated. These include (from left to right):

  • Shunsuke Yoshino (voiced by Jun Osuka), a 2nd year high school student and the ace striker of the soccer club. Shunsuke has a standoffish personality, but he's popular anyway. His favorite character is Hello Kitty, whom he reveres as a "goddess of victory" after winning a soccer match while carrying a Hello Kitty charm.
  • Yuu Mizuno (voiced by Soma Saito), a 2nd year high school student who appears frivolous at first glance but who is actually a kind and caring person. Yuu has been looking after his younger sister from an early age. His favorite character is My Melody.
  • Kouta Hasegawa (voiced by Takuya Eguchi), a 2nd year high school student whose ordinary life begins to get more exciting when he meets the other "Sanrio Boys". Kouta's favorite character is Pompompurin.
  • Ryou Nishimiya (voiced by Hiroyuki Kagera), a 1st year high school student who was born in England and who recently repatriated to Japan. Ryou belongs to the library committee, but he doesn't have many friends. Ryou is very shy and concerned about his appearance. His favorite characters are the Little Twin Stars.
  • Seiichiro Minamoto (voiced by Yuma Uchida), a 3rd year student who is captain of the archery club and student council president. Seiichiro is well-trusted by his fellow students, and his favorite character is Cinnamoroll.

Sanrio Boys is directed by Masahi Kudo and features animation by Studio Pierrot. The series will begin broadcasting in Japan in January of 2018.
