Nintendo hopes you'll be able to avoid paying jacked-up scalper prices
It looks like Nintendo may actually have learned a lesson from the NES Classic and the more recent Super NES Classic Edition pre-order fiasco. They previously promised supply would be greater for the latter, and they reinforced this with the announcement of plans to ship the throwback mini-console into 2018.
Nintendo also promises that, compared to the short supply of NES Classics at launch, more SNES Classic units will ship on September 29, with regular shipments to follow.
There's more good news for folks who have been dodging high scalper prices on eBay, too. The NES Classic Edition will officially return to stores next summer, with more information to come on timing at a later date.
