Her 40th single "Kimi no Soba ni Iruyo" will be released on November 29
The official Twitter for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's Hagane no Renkinjutsushi/Fullmetal Alchemist manga announced today that 39-year-old Japanese female singer MISIA performs the film's theme song "Kimi no Soba ni Iruyo" (I will be beside you). She recently provided her 39th single song "Orphans no Namida" as the first ED song for the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. "Kimi no Soba ni Iruyo" is set to be released as her 40th single in Japan on November 29.
She says that she has been a big fan of Arakawa's original manga. "Because this is my favorite series, I was very happy when I received the offer. I completed the theme song 'Kimi no Soba ni Iruyo' by mixing the lyrics I felt from the Elric Brothers, Edward portrayed by Ryosuke Yamada and Alphonse, the melody and arranged music that deliver limitless hope, and my singing."
Director Fumihiko Sori also adds, "My heart is uplifted with a sense of unity between the theme song that
beautifully expresses the world view of Fullmetal Alchemist and the film. I have heard MISIA-san is also a
huge fan of the manga, so I am convinced that this resonance is real."
The 23-year-old Ryosuke Yamada (a member of Japanese idol group Hey! Say! JUMP)-starring film hits
Japanese theaters December 1, 2017.
