Five-member VA unit Walküre will record a new song for the film
Following the quick announcements on Monday, the official website for the Macross franchise today released a detailed report with photos on the event for the upcoming Macross Delta projects held at Lazona Kawasaki Plaza in Kanagawa Prefecture on October 9.
According to the report, the franchise's original creator Shoji Kawamori confirmed that Gekijyo-ban Macross Delta: Gekijyo no Walküre (Macross Delta the Movie: Walküre in Passion) will be a compilation film based on the 26-episode Macross Delta TV anime aired in 2016, not a newly-produced sequel or a spin-off, but it will have "a little something extra," including reinforced battle scenes for a big screen. And as with the previous Macross films, it may have a little change in its story.
In addition, it was also confirmed that the series' five-member voice actress idol unit Walküre will
record a new song for the film. Kawamori said, "I am just drawing a storyboard for the scene using
the new song, and I think it is going to be a very good scene."
Gekijyo-ban Macross Delta: Gekijyo no Walküre (Macross Delta the Movie: Walküre in Passion) is set
to be released in Japan on February 9, 2018.
