"Kemono Friends" Illustrator Pays Tribute to Otaku Penguin

Tobu Zoo displays original artwork by Mine Yoshizaki featuring Grape-kun and Hululu

As fans continue to mourn the passing of Grape-kun, a 21 year old Humboldt penguin at Tobu Zoo who captured the Internet's heart when he fell in love with a standee of Hululu from Kemono Friends, manga artist and Kemono Friends concept designer Mine Yoshizaki has created a piece of memorial artwork featuring Grape-kun and Hululu together.

The artwork was gifted to Tobu Zoo, who posted a picture of it on display on their official Twitter acccount.

Translation: Yoshizaki-sensei, thank you so very much for the lovely painting. #tobuzoo #kemonofriends #grapekun #hululu

Rest in peace, Grape-kun.
