Katsuyuki Motohiro (Psycho-Pass)-directed film will open in Japan on March 21, 2018
The official website for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Kemuri Karakara's fantasy action manga Donten ni Warau/Laughing Under the Clouds has posted a 60-second full trailer to introduce its main cast, including the three Kumou brothers. 24-year-old Sota Fukushi (Gentaro Kisaragi in Kamen Rider Fourze) is cast as the oldest brother Tenka, alongside 23-year-old Yuma Nakayama as the second brother Soramaru and 13-year-old Kirato Wakayama as the youngest Chutaro.
To promote the film more effectively to the audience who are not familiar with the original manga, the trailer emphasises that the story is set in the Meiji Restoration era, almost same time period with the two recent successful live-action film adaptations of popular Japanese manga, Rurouni Kenshin and Gintama (The latter is set in an alternate world inspired by the late-Edo period, though).
The highly-anticipated adaptation is directed by 52-year-old Katsuyuki Motohiro, who helmed the mega-
hit police comedy drama franchise Odoru Daisousasen/Bayside Shakedown (1997-2012) and the Psycho-
Pass anime series (2012-2015).
