KAIJU GIRLS, a short-form web & TV anime based on the "Ultra Monster Anthropomorphic Project" which re-imagines the antagonists of Tsuburaya Productions' Ultra series as cute anime girls, is returning to Japanese TV for a 2nd season in January of 2018, and this time around a brainy, gutsy alien is joining the cast.
Voice actress Risae Matsuda plays Gattsu Seijin (aka "Alien Guts"), a monster known for being hyper-intelligent and for possessing the power to teleport and to produce illusionary copies of itself. Gattsu Seijin first appeared in Ultra Seven episodes 39 & 40.
KAIJU GIRLS is directed by Minoru Ashina and features animation by Studio Puyukai. The 1st season of KAIJU GIRLS is available via streaming on Crunchyroll, who describe the story as follows:
Humanity's battle of many years with the kaiju, giant monsters, has finally come to an end. Now that Earth has entered an age of peace, girls with the souls of kaiju have begun to appear, giving them the ability to transform into kaiju. They are known as the Kaiju Girls, and this is the powerful, transient, beautiful, and at times easygoing story of the strange fate these girls bear.
