Transforming Trains Protect Japan in "Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion"

Main cast and staff revealed for upcoming children's TV anime based on Takara Tomy's giant robot / train toys


The main staff and cast have been announced for Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion ("Bullet Train Transforming Robot Shinkalion"), an upcoming children's TV anime based on the line of transforming train toys by Takara Tomy.

The main cast for Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion includes:


  • Manami Numakura as Akita Oka, the pilot of Shinkalion E6 "Komasa". Akita has top class marksmanship skills and a cool personality, but he also has a sweet tooth. Akita hopes to one day be a world champion in the Beam Rifle shooting competition.
  • Ayane Sakura as Hayato Hayasugi, the main character and pilot of Shinkalion E5 "Hayabusa". Hayato loves bullet trains more than anything else and hopes to be a bullet train drive when he grows up. Hayato has a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Rie Murakawa as Tsuranuki Daimonzan, the pilot of Shinkalion E7 "Kagayaki". Tsuranuki has a passion for civil engineering construction, such as tunnels and man-made canals. He often uses complicated words and phrases, but he usually gets their meanings wrong.



In Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion, the S.U.E.I. ("Shinkansen Ultra Evolution Institute") is a top-secret organization hidden in a secret base beneath the Kyoto Railway Museum. With the aid of transforming robots piloted by gifted children, the S.U.E.I. strives to protect peace in Japan by doing battle with giant monsters and the nefarious Black Bullet Train.


Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion will begin broadcasting in Japan in 2018.
