"Junji Ito Collection" Teases More Tales of Terror with Three Cast Additions

TV anime based on the works of prolific horror manga author hits Japanese airwaves in January of 2018

 

Three more cast members have been announced for the Junji Ito Collection TV anime, an upcoming animated series that celebrates the works of the macabre manga master responsible for such terrifying tales as GyoUzumaki, and Tomie. The new cast members include:

 

  • Hikaru Midorikawa as Yotsutsuji no Bishounen ("The Beautiful Boy of the Crossroads"), from Lovesick Dead.
  • Mami Koyama as Fuchi, from Souichi's Diary of Curses.
  • And Rie Sugihara as Tomie, from Tomie.

 

 

Junji Ito Collection is directed by Shinobu Tagashira and features animation by Studio Deen. Exactly which of Ito's stories will be adapted is being kept a secret until the moment each episode broadcasts in order to keep the viewing audience in a state of suspense. Junji Ito Collection begins broadcasting on WOWOW on January 05, 2018, with an additional broadcast to follow on Tokyo MX beginning on January 07, 2018.
