"Made in Abyss" Descends into Darkness in Sequel Series

1st season of TV anime adaptation of Akihito Tsukushi's dark fantasy manga is available via Anime Strike


Announced at the special "Deep in Abyss Recital" event that was held at the Congress Square Nihonbashi convention center in Tokyo on November 26, 2017, a new season of the dark fantasy TV anime Made in Abyss is in-development. Aside from the preview video below, no further details about the production have been revealed, although it is likely the same cast and crew with continue into the 2nd season of Made in Abyss.



The original Made in Abyss web manga by Akihito Tsukushi is published in the Web Comic Gamma digital publication on Takeshobo's Manga Life Win website, and an English language version is also available through Seven Seas Entertainment. The 1st season of Made in Abyss is directed by Masayuki Kojima and features animation by Kinema Citrus.


The 1st season of Made in Abyss is streamed on Amazon Prime's Anime Strike channel, who describe the series as follows:

Within the depths of the Abyss, a girl named Riko stumbles upon a robot who looks like a young boy. Riko and her new friend descend into uncharted territory to unlock its mysteries, but what lies in wait for them in the darkness?
