Adaptation based on yuri romance manga by Saburouta debuts in Japan on January 07, 2018
A new teaser trailer has been published for citrus, an upcoming TV anime based on the yuri romance manga by Saburouta about a high school "gyaru" who finds herself dealing with a new school, a new family setup, and a new romantic interest after her mother remarries. The video introduces the main characters and samples the OP / ED themes of the series, "Azalea" by nano.RIPE and "Dear Teardrop" by Mia REGINA.
The original citrus manga is serialized in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Seven Seas Entertainment. The citrus TV anime is directed by Takeo Takahashi and features animation by Passione. The series begins broadcasting in Japan on January 07, 2018, and will also be simulcast on Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll describes citrus as follows:
Yuzu, a high school gyaru who hasn't experienced her first love yet, transfers to an all-girls school after her mother remarries. She's beyond upset that she can't land a boyfriend at her new school. Then, on her first day, she meets the beautiful black-haired student council president Mei in the worst way possible. What's more, she later finds out that Mei is her new step-sister, and they'll be living under the same roof! And so the love affair between two polar opposite high school girls who find themselves drawn to one another begins!
