"Gun Gale Online" TV Anime Crashes the Database in April

Series is based on the "Sword Art Online Alternative" novels by Keiichi Sigsawa and Kouhaku Kuroboshi

Good news for fans of Sword Art Online and its spin-offs: according to the show's official Twitter feed, the TV anime adaptation of Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online will be here sooner than you think, beginning its Japanese broadcast in April of 2018.

The original Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online light novels are written by Keiichi Sigsawa, illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi, and published in Japan by ASCII Media Works (a division of Kadokawa) under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. An English language version is also in-development from Yen Press, who describe the story as follows:

The fact that Kohiruimaki Karen is 183 centimeters tall has always been something she's felt extremely self-conscious about as an introverted high school girl. But in the world of games, she can be whoever she wants to be! In the popular Gun Gale Online game, she's Ren, a short, all pink, P90 wielding bombshell who's aiming to win the next battle royale!
