To promote its upcoming premiere in April 2018, the official website for the TV anime adaptation of Fujita's love story manga Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (It's Difficult to Love an Otaku) has posted a first teaser visual introducing its two protagonists, Narumi Momose (CV: Arisa Date) and Hirotaka Nifuji (Kento Ito). Two more visuals are scheduled to be added weekly. The next one with Hanako Koyanagi (Miyuki Sawashiro) and Taro Kabakura (Tomokazu Sugita) will be posted on January 11, then the third one with Naoya Nifuji (Yuki Kaji) and Kou Sakuragi (Aoi Yuuki) will follow on January 18.
While A-1 Pictures (Eromanga Sensei) is confirmed to work on anime production, its main staff members including director and character designer have not yet been announced. It is scheduled to be aired on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block.

The manga telling a love story between two deep otaku (Narumi is a so-called fujyoshi, while Hirotaka is a
gamer) was first posted onto Pixiv, the largest Japanese online community for artists in 2014, then has been
serialized on Pixiv and Ichijinsha's co-operated web comic site comic POOl since November 2015. The series
has printed a total of 4.2 million copies in Japan, and its next fifth tankobon is set to be released on February 2.
