"Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Movie" Conquers the Silver Screen

New key visual and teaser trailer released for theatrical anime film based on "alternate history" fantasy light novel series

A new theatrical anime film project has been officially announced for Saga of Tanya the Evil (known in Japan as Youjo Senki), and a new key visual (above) and a new teaser trailer (below) have been published to celebrate the continuing misadventures of the ruthless, magic-wielding child soldier from the "alternate history" fantasy light novel series written by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki.

Although few details have been revealed for the new production, it has been confirmed that Yutaka Uemura, the director of the Saga of Tanya the Evil TV anime, will also direct the film version. The new key visual above is illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki, the artist for the original Saga of Tanya the Evil light novel series.

The original Saga of Tanya the Evil light novels are published in Japan by Enterbrain, and an English language version is also being published by Yen Press. The 2017 Saga of Tanya the Evil TV anime features animation by NUT, and it currently available via streaming on Crunchyroll.
