Secret Base Robot Bar Encourages Patrons to Be Chillin' like a Villain

Limited time collaboration reproduces the royal throne of Degwin Sodo Zabi from "Mobile Suit Gundam"

Patrons who've always wanted to lounge in a throne like a space-dictator will soon have the opportunity to do so thanks to a new collaboration at Eizo Izakaya Robo Kichi ("Mind's Eye Image Tavern Robo Base"), a mecha-themed eatery in Nishi-Ikebukuro.

The collaboration with Karimoku Furniture involves a life-size reproduction of the royal throne of Degwin Sodo Zabi, the autocratic ruler of the Principality of Zeon in the classic 1979 mecha TV anime, Mobile Suit Gundam. For a limited time from January 09 - March 31, 2018, the throne will be on display at Eizo Izakaya Robo Kichi, and patrons will be allowed to sit in it and take pictures.

Based around the concept of a secret base where robot pilots can gather on neutral ground to drink and swap war stories, Eizo Izakaya Robo Kichi offers food, drinks, and mecha-themed character goods. The tavern also allows patrons to view classic mecha anime via the BANDAI CHANNEL TOUCH in-store app. Eizo Isakaya Robo Kichi is located on the 3rd floor of the 1 Chome 10-15 building in Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima Ward, Tokyo, Japan. Its hours of operation are from 4:00 PM - 12:00AM JST.
