"Digimon Realize" promises "friendship-evolving RPG."
The latest addition to the Digimon franchise has been named and teased: Digimon Realize, a mobile game that combines the monster-collecting world with a "friendship-evolving RPG."
The story will be set in Digi-Town, where you'll work to build up friendships with the local Digimon -- both familiar ones and new, game-specific characters. With them, you'll work to stop a new threat looming over both the real world and the Digital World.
Character designs will be handled by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, who served as character designer for both Digimon Adventure and Digimon Tamers. Dragon Ball fans may also recognize him as a character designer and key animator for many of the films.
Digimon Realize is due for release in Japan this year.
