Piston-Punching "Megalo Box" Anime Gets Manga Starting Next Month
Chikara Sakuma handles illustrations for the adaptation

Yesterday we posted a pretty awesome trailer for the Megalo Box anime, which is coming out this April to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ikki Kajiwara and Tetsuya Chiba's classic Ashita no Joe manga. The futuristic boxing story—which follows a boxer named J.D. ("Junk Dog") as he descends into the undergrond, prosthetic-powered world of Megalo Box—is also getting a manga adaptation next month.
The announcement comes from the February issue of Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge, which has the series lined up to debut with 104 pages—including a color opener—on February 17. Chikara Sakuma is handling the art for the adaptation.
