Digital stamp rally will be held in 12 places around Tokyo till February 28
A "kick-off" event to introduce the "TOKYO Anime Tourism 2018" app featuring 12 characters from Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale was held at Belle Salle Akihabara in Tokyo on Sunday. 65-year-old Yuriko Koike, governor of Tokyo, wearing two SAO tin badges on her chest, joined the event to promote the app. She said, "I hope you will enjoy the Tokyo tour with anime. Not only with the sports (in The Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2020), but we also want to promote Tokyo to Japan and the world through the characters and stories of anime and manga."
"TOKYO ANIME TOURISM 2018" is a free app to enjoy digital stamp rally using AR technology that can merge both the physical world with digital graphics. There are a total of 12 AR spots in Tokyo that appeared in the movie or that have a connection to the anime story. Each location has one character that users can take photo with, and offers points. Users can receive original goods (clear files, tin badges, or hand towl) based on the number of the points at Tokyo Anime Center in DNP PLAZA.
