TV anime adaptation based on dark fantasy light novel series is currently streaming on Crunchyroll
Dark fantasy TV anime Overlord II is gearing up to enter a new story-line entitled the "Kingdom Arc" beginning with Episode 06 on February 13, 2018, and to promote this transition the official web site for the series has revealed a new key visual (above) and three new cast additions. The new cast members include:
Kiyono Yasuno as Renner, the Third Princess of the Re-Estize Kingdom, who is known throughout her kingdom for her great beauty and benevolence.
Ryōta Ōsaka as Climb, a knight in Renner's service. Climb was an orphan and a commoner until Renner took him under her wing, and so Climb is absolutely loyal to the princess. Although he trains incessantly to protect Renner, Climb is not very skilled with a sword.
And Kōji Yusa as Brain, one of the greatest swordsmen of Re-Estize Kingdom. Brain pursued perfection in his swordcraft until his party was slaughtered by Shalltear. The encounter forced him to flee for his life and shattered his will as a warrior.
Based on the series of novels written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin, the 2nd season of the Overlord TV anime is directed by Naoyuki Itō and features animation by Madhouse. Overlord II is currently broadcasting on Japanese TV as part of the Winter 2018 season, and the series is also available via streaming in North America on Crunchyroll and Funimation, who describe the story of Overlord as follows:
When a popular MMORPG is scheduled to be shut down permanently, veteran player Momonga refuses to log out. As NPCs begin to develop personalities and minds of their own he decides to put his skills to use as the game’s new overlord.
