Live-Action "Alita: Battle Angel" Movie Gets Pushed Back to December

Fox shakes up its calendar and moves the Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron project


When we saw the wide-eyed debut trailer for Alita: Battle Angel—which has director Robert Rodriguez adapting Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita manga—it was set for July. Thanks to a schedule shake-up at Fox, though, we'll have to wait a little longer to see how the James Cameron-produced project turns out. 


According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alita: Battle Angel is now set to premiere on December 21, which is quite the leap from the initial summer plans. The adaptation will be doing box office battle with the Holmes & Watson comedy starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, Transformers spinoff Bumblebee: The Movie, and this year's sexy fish-dude movie, Aquaman.
